Molly was the first wife of the Rev. James Edgar BLACK, who remarried in Bradford County, Florida, settled there, and died in 1914. He was born in 1843, the son of the Rev. John J. BLACK Sr. & Caroline STEWART.
Molly was the mother of six children, three of whom survived infancy; of the three, her only surviving son was the Rev. John Gordon BLACK of Florida and Georgia (born 1877 in Beaufort District, South Carolina, he grew up on a farm near Jesup, Wayne County).
Abstract from Laurel Grove Cemetery Keepers Book: Mary A. BLACK died the 1st of December, 1907, and was buried the same day in Lot 2574. She was a native of Georgia, aged 63 years; she was a resident of 521 East Broad Street.
