GARLAND--George Henrie, 77, died Monday morning at a Tremonton hospital following a lingering illnes.

He was born June 12, 1873, in Panguitch, Utah, a son of Samuel and Hannah Ellis Henrie. He married Lovinnia May Clayton, Feb. 23, 1898, in the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter~day Saints. They moved to Garland in 1903 and she died June 9, 1938.

He married Nellie Burns Rose Dec. 15, 1938, in the Logan Temple. She died Oct. 19, 1943 He married Lillie M. Hancock Clayton May 2, 1944, in the Logan Temple.

Mr. Henrie was the owner of the first hotel and restaurant in Garland. He was employed by the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company at the time he moved to Garland. He had served as director of the North Utah Farmers' Co-op, Garland city marshal, and was a charter member of the Garland Lions Club.

He was an active member of the Church and served on the Bear River Stake high council, counselor in the Garland bishopric, chairman of the stake welfare committee and of stake genealogical committee.

Survivors include his widow and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Clydia Gunn Crowley, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Erma Summers, Bothwell; Veryl C. Henrie, Malad, Ida; and Glenn Henrie, Garland. He is survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Samuel Henrie and James Arthur Henrie, Provo; John Henrie and Chester Henrie, of Panguitch; Mrs. Etta Lynn, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Louise Skinner, McGill, Nev., and Mrs. Addie Richards, Driggs, Ida.

Time and place of the funeral will be announced by the Rogers Funeral Home of Tremonton.
