Her father Herman Sherman Bassett was born 26 October 1869 in Virginia. Her mother, Annettie "Nettie" (Judd) Bassett was born about June 1870 in Wisconsin. They were married about 1893. 1900 they were enumerated in the United States Federal Census at Wilbur, Lincoln County, WA. They stated they had 3 children with two living, Adelia and Florence Bassett. Living with them was Nettie's sister, Jimmie Ethel Judd born about December 1878 in Oregon.

Adelia graduated in 1915 from the Harrington, WA High School.

She married Clarence Almon Scott on the 27 November 1919 in Harrington, Lincoln County, WA. Clarence's father the Rev. E. C. Scott married them.

She worked 34 years for the Harrington Citizen Newspaper. When she retired she moved to Spokane, WA.

Their children were:
