Jesse Wilburn was born on the family farm in Osage County KS son of John Newton and Mary Ella Fuqua Rickman. He married Elma Pearl Nutt July 16, 1900 at Hall Summit Methodist Church in Coffey Co KS
they had two sons Victor Earl born May 9, 1901 and Clarence Wallace born Oct 12, 1903. Elma Pearl died in July 1913 after that Will left the family farm and fostered his sons with Elma's brother Grover P. Nutt of Waverly. Will was an artist and made a living painting signs

A.A. Rickman of Waverly and Frank N. Rickman of Burlington have received word that their brother Will Rickman 73 died at 2:15 Thursday morning Aug 17 1950 in the hospital at Watsonville, CA. Will Rickman was born near Waverly and lived in Coffey Co. until about 30 years ago he had been ill in the hospital for six months . He is survived by his wife and one son and by two brothers Ernest and Dick Rickman and three sisters, Mable, Nellie and Fannie all of California in addition to the two brothers here.
