He was killed while blasting rocks at Tiverton, RI where he was employed as a stonemason.

Suggested edit: Three sons of Daniel Devol, ALLEN DEVOL, ISAAC, and DANIEL DEVOL, came to Marietta with "The First Settlers" Apr. 7. 1788, and helped to build the boat on which they all floated down to Marietta, Ohio.
