Daughter of William Madison Cooper and Alpha Mae Barrett
Wife of Dan Wood, loving step-mother to Randy

My Aunt Joyce was a wonderful woman. She was a spitfire and was tough as nails but she had an eligance about her.

She was a beautician by trade.

Aunt Joyce loved animals! she had many dogs in her day and also a Parrot named Jose. Now, Jose is not your typical Parrot, he will talk your leg off and can mimmic others. To this day, he still yells for Aunt Joyce in her husbands voice and will yell for Uncle Dan in Joyce's voice. He also mimics the dogs barks! She loved that crazy bird. When Aunt Joyce died, my grandmother, Joyce's sister, took the bird and has it to this day and he still mimics Joyce and Dan.

A small woman in stature.. maybe 5 feet tall in heels. but a large personality that would capture a room.

Aunt Joyce battled and beat breast cancer many years ago and was in great health since her fight. Around christmas time 2006 she was out hanging chritmas lights on her house when she fell from a ladder and hurt her hip. My grandmother, Joyce's sister, took her to the Doctor and they did x-rays. A short time later, they found the cancer again, this time it was to far gone to do anything and was in her bones.

My grandmother and Joyce were very close, they spent every waking moment togehter and lived 2 doors down from one another. My grandmother, Wilma, moved in with Joyce and took care of her every need and was with her holding her hand when she peacefully went to sleep for the final time.

Aunt Joyce was laid to rest next to her husband and love of her life, Dan. Dan passed away in 1995 of cancer. They were truly a match made in heaven and are once again united there forever.

The inscription on their double marker reads... "I love you more today than yesterday, but not half as much as tomorrow"

Rest in peace Aunt Joyce, we love and miss you and will never forget you.
