During Rev. Morey's pastorate of work, Debbie became acquainted with Mr. D. L. Lawson with whom she was united in marriage July 29, 1863. In the year of 1885 Mr. and Mrs. Lawson moved to What Cheer, Ia., where for these many years Mrs. Lawson has been in business, and where in March 1911, she lost her husband by death.
Last Wednesday morning after but a few hours illness, Mrs. Lawson fell asleep on earth to wake in the better home. In her death she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Moore, of Pittsburg, Pa., who was present at the funeral and Mrs. M. J. Cain, of Brooklyn, Ia. and one brother, Mr. J. W. Morey of Chicago.
The funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 20th at 1p.m. from the M. E. church of this city, her pastor, Rev. H. N. Smith in charge, assisted by her former pastor, Rev. Rohrbough of Hedrick, Ia.
