Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral Lower Church for Clara K. Franke, age 89, formerlyof 1604 St. Germain Street, St. Cloud, MN, who died on Sunday, September 22, 2002, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids, MN. TheReverend Steven Binsfeld will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. St. Anne's Christian Mothers will pray at 4:30 p.m.and St. Mary's Cathedral Parish Prayers will be at 7 p.m. at Daniel Funeral Home. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Clara was born on January 3, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes(Schley)Althaus at Melrose, MN. She married Gilbert Franke on July 17, 1934 in Melrose, MN. She has been a resident of St. Cloud all her married life. Mrs. Franke was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral CatholicChurch and St. Anne's Christian Mothers.
She is survived by one son, Tom Franke and his wife Ramona of St. Cloud; one son-in-law, Wilfred Kometz of Cold Spring, MN; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and one sister, Delores Frieler and her husband Martin of New Munich, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Franke on June 5, 2001; five sisters, Veronica, Rose, Hildegard, Josephine, and Gladys and three brothers, Leo, Frank, and Ervin.
Casket Bearers will be her grandsons, Todd Franke, Tom Franke, Tim Franke, Gary Kometz, Jamie Kometz and Matthew Kometz.
