Her father was Levi Stone and her mother was Theresa Ridenhour Stone.

She married Adam Ludy 16 August 1852. He was born April 1831 in Maryland. He was a farmer. He died 25 August 1912 in an Asylum in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. Senile Dementia contributed to his passing.

By 1860 they were living in Ravanna, Mercer County, Missouri. In 1864 during the Civil War they crossed the plains by covered wagon to Butte, Colusa County, California. They lived there until 1880 when they came to Lincoln County, Washington and settled on a farm just east of Harrington.

Adam was in Yuma, Pima County, Arizona when he passed away. He was in poor health and went to Arizona for the drier climate.

She had been ill only a few days when she passed away at the home of her son-in-law's brother, Robert N Shields whom she had been visiting for a few months.

Her funeral was held in the Harrington Evangelical church.

Lydia Ludy Shields born 1854/6 Iowa and died Feb 14, 1898
Jacob Edward Ludy of Yuma, AZ born October 1857 Missouri
and
Sarah C. Ludy Hannum born about 1861/2 Missouri
