Nancy Katherine Thornton was born in Illinois on July 15, 1849. Died at Madison, Kans., January 29, 1919, aged 69 years, 7 months and 15 days.
In 1871 she was united in marriage with Walter Irwin, at Mason City, Ill. To this union three children, Dan Irwin and Mrs. Mattie Johnson, both of Madison, and one child, which died in infancy.
In October, 1878, she was married to Delane H. Cunningham, at Madison, Kan. To this union nine children were born, two dying in infancy. The remaining children are Ella Chamblin, of Peru, Okla.; Blanch Groat, of Virgil; Kitty Bohard, of Hamilton; Inez Bohard, Sadie Groat, Elsie Elrod, and Howard Cunningham all of Madison. Mr. Cunningham passed away in the year of 1914.

The funeral services were conducted at the Church of the Brethen in Madison, by Rev. S.E. Lantz, on Thursday, January 30, and interment was made in Park Cemetery.
