"Paul Jesberg was born on June 16, 1884, at Franklin, Iowa,and passed away at Santa Monica, California, on May 17, 1962. He received his common school and high school education at McPherson, Kansas, and when 21 years of age his pioneering instinct lured him to California where he showed good judgment by settling down at Los Angeles. Here he being an alert, ambitious, wide awake and industrious young man he soon engaged in business for himself and built a successful shoe merchandising business under his own name.
He established anumber of stores in Los Angeles known as Jesberg's Walk-Over-Shops."
Paul A. Jesberg was instrumental in founding and the builder of the Kiwanis Club of Los Angeles. This new Club was finally put together and an organizational meeting was held on 06 June 1917.
