Mrs. Sadie Aliene Acy Lehman, widow of Henry Houston Lehman, longtime Odd Fellows Cemetery sexton, died Friday, June 29 at Holmes County Hospital following an apparent heart attack. She was 86.
Mrs. Lehman was born in Carroll County on January 24, 1898 a daughter of the late Mr. Charles Carroll Acy and Mrs. Annie Hendry Acy.
She was a homemaker and an active member of First Baptist Church in Lexington.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Her pastor, Dr. Michael O’Brien, was the officiating minister.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Moore and Mrs. Hattie Maude Farmer, both of Lexington, Mrs. Beulah L. Galey of Black Hawk and Mrs. Hilda L. Cook of Greenwood: seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Edwin Galey, Joe Chapman, Sandy Power, Joe Cass Chapman, Robert H. Bowie, Marvin McCorkle, James Downes and Dorsey Cockrell.
