Mrs. Dorothy Alice Vest, 81, Humansville, died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her home. She was born November 7, 1928 in Bois D'Arc, Missouri to David and Jessie (McSpadden) Potter.
Dorothy graduated from Humansville High School in 1947. She lived in the Humansville area most of her life and worked as a Nurses Aide and later as a Medication Technician at Big Spring Care Center as well as Northwood Hills Care Center, both in Humansville.
She was an active member of the Humansville Senior Center until her health no longer allowed it. She was also a member of Humansville First Baptist Church.
In 1947 she married Nelson Rima. They were later divorced. On May 28, 1980 she married Roy L. Vest, who preceded her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Kraig Rima, brothers, Gene and Harold, and sisters, Hilda, Betty and Lillian.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Rima and Randell Rima, both of Humansville, and Gerry Rima, ElDorado Springs; three daughters, Judy Creasey, Weaubleau, Nella Keller, Collins and Ellen Lane, St. Joseph; one brother, Dave Potter, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; 2 sisters, Ruth Dobson, Tipton and Bonnie Nickels, Humansville; 20 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will at 2:30 PM Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Salem Cemetery, at Cliquot with Rev. Allan Lane officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at Murray Funeral Home, Humansville. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Cemetery in care of Murray Funeral Home, P O Box 93, Humansville, MO 65674.
