A native of Trigg County, Lacy was born January 13, 1901, the son of Euphates "Frate" and Eva Lena Cunningham Peal. He had three brothers and one foster sister. They made their home on their family farm near the mouth of the Little River. In 1923 Lacy married Lula Grace Hendricks, daughter of Warren C. And Vallie Hendricks. They had one daughter, Sylvia Dell, born May 6, 1924. Sylvia Dell married Jay Lyons , son of Joseph Bently and Garvie Calhoun Lyons of Trigg County. They had one daughter, Betty Lou, born October 17, 1942.

Lacy and Lula made their home on their farm near the Peal's Chapel Methodist Church. Lacy and Lula were a hardworking farm couple with Lacy tending to the crops and livestock, while Lula tended to the house and garden. Lacy was a tall, quiet, and gentle man with a big heart. Family and friends were a big part of his and Lula's lives. Their hearts and home were opened to many. Lacy was a member of the Peal's Chapel Methodist Church in Trigg County.

Lacy died October 6, 1975 at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was buried in the Little River Cemetery.
