He was born April 27, 1918, in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of William and Minnie (Grimes) Adams. On June 20, 1946, he married Emogene G. Underwood, who preceded him in death in 2003. He worked for 33 years at the former Grizzley Manufacturing, Paulding, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Paulding VFW Post 587 and the Paulding Eagles 2405. He was an avid bowler and sports enthusiast.
He is survived by three daughters: Sandy Parrish, Lynn (James) Nutter and Kelly (Tony) Ankney, all of Paulding; two sons: Jerry (Joann) Adams, Paulding and Tony Adams, Oakwood; two sisters; Fanny May (Alvin) Long, Oakwood, and Reva Hammon, Jewell, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emogene; and a brother, A. Rex Adams.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will be in Cooper Cemetery, Paulding.
