Clark L. Barefoot

Clark Lorenzo Barefoot, 65, a native of Alum Bank and a former resident of Reynoldsdale, died at his home in Duncansville Sunday morning, Nov. 12, after a long illness.

He was born at Alum Bank, Sept. 4, 1879, a son of the late James and Sarah (Wolf) Barefoot. On April 8, 1903, he was united in marriage with Georgia Ann Weyant. Prior to moving to Duncansville 12 years ago, the deceased was the proprietor of a boarding house known as the Gohm Hotel at Windber and for a number of years was a storekeeper at Reynoldsdale. For the past ten years he operated the Barefoot Inn at Duncansville.

In addition to his widow he is survived by five children: Mrs. Martha Burkett, Hollidaysburg; J. Walter, teacher in the Phoenixville public schools; George C., Duncansville; Mrs. Dorothy Butler, Roaring Spring; and Pvt. Kenneth S., serving with the armed forces in France. Also surviving are two brothers: Draper, Sidman; Ward, Alum Bank; and a sister, Mrs. Etta Gates, Windber, and 14 grandchildren. He was a member of the Evangelical church at Alum Bank and of the Junior Order Mechanics at Duncansville.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Barefoot home. The Rev. Vannie Green officiating. Interment was in the Alto Rest Cemetery in Altoona, under the direction of the Blackburn Funeral Home, Pleasantville.
