The Rev. Fred Earl Andrews, pastor emeritus of McVeytown Presbyterian Church, passed away at the home of his sister- in-law; Miss Jessie Topley, Arlington,Va., Monday evening, Oct. 18, 1943, at 6 o'clock, a stroke causing death.

Born December 18, 1867, at Bergens, N.Y., he was aged 75 years 10 months 2 days. He was the son of. Dr. and Mrs. Robert Andrews of Bergens, N.Y.

The Rev. Andrews became pastor of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church, September 4, 1904, serving a period of about 29 years. Under his pastorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the congregation and the 100th anniversary of the erection of the present church edifice were observed. He worked arduously to prepare the anniversary celebration program and its many details and was ill when it was presented. His successors as pastors in McVeytown were Rev. Dr. John T. Peters, now pastor of Huntingdon Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Dr. Clifford E. Davis, present pastor, who resigned recently, his resignation becoming effective December 1.

Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Topley, and two sons, Earl T. Andrews, Mount Union, and L. Douglas Andrews, St. Marys. The funeral services will be conducted in McVeytown Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon, 2 o'clock.
