Mrs. Tripp was born on December 13, 1916 in Wilcox County. She was daughter of the late Jimmie Louie Collins and Sally Weldon Walker Collins. She was a retired Social Worker Technician at the Wilcox County Training Center, was a homemaker and performed numerous other jobs in Wilcox County and community. She was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church, was Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher. She was a former member of the Official Board of the Rochelle United Methodist Church, a United Methodist MYF Counselor, PTA Officer and member, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Grover Tripp, a son-William Henry Tripp, a grandchild-Robert Wayne Tripp, Jr., and a great-great-grandchild-Patrick Hunnicutt.
Survivors include: sons-John Thomas (Diane) Tripp, Sr. of Fayetteville, James Louie (Lynda) Tripp, Sr. of Rochelle, and Robert Wayne (Gloria) Tripp of Abbeville, daughters-Carolyn T. Brooks of Cordele, Sandra E. Phillips of Canton, Ohio, and Mary Sue (Jerry) Titshaw of Hampton, sister-Joicelyn C. Rhodes of Collins, 17 grandchildren, 29-great-grandchildren, 4-great-great-grandchildren, a special grandchild, Whitney Conner.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, July 24 in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
