GASTON--Arvada J. Shreves,90, died Monday in Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, after a long illness. Mrs. Shreves was born in Gaston and attended Gaston schools. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Eagles Lodge 231.

Survivors include a son, James E. Shreves; a daughter, Janice L. Rogers; 14 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Eli Shreves, died in 1983. Two sons, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, four sisters and 10 brothers are deceased.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling will be 2 hours before services Thursday at the mortuary.
