George Eberhart Bailey was one of the sons of William Thomas Bailey of Hartwell, Georgia, and Judith McCurley Bailey. He married Evie Arze Crump on Sept. 21, 1902.
They were the parents of the following children: William Teasley Bailey, George Arthur Bailey, Jep W. Bailey, Hubert T. Bailey, Maude Bailey Fowler, Edna Bailey Chapman, Joe Benson Bailey, Emma Nell Bailey Rumsey, and Thomas Hardwick Bailey.

Bailey, 75, of the Double Springs section of the county who died at the Anderson Memorial Hosp. shortly after 10 pm Weds night, will be held from the Flat Rock Bapt. Church Sat., at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Flat Rock cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers: Denver, Farris, Joe, Bill, William & Edgar Bailey. Mr. Bailey, a farmer by ocupation had been in declining health for 10 years but critically ill only one day.
