Anderson Independent Mail, 18 April 1952 - Final rites for George E. Bailey, 75, of the Double Springs section of the county who died at the Anderson Memorial Hosp. shortly after 10 pm Weds night, will be held from the Flat Rock Bapt. Church Sat., at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Flat Rock cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers: Denver, Farris, Joe, Bill, William & Edgar Bailey. Mr. Bailey, a farmer by ocupation had been in declining health for 10 years but critically ill only one day. A native of GA, he was the son of the late William & Judy McCurley Bailey & a member of the Mt. Hebron Bapt. Church in Hart Co. Surviving him are 4sons: Wiliam T.-Los Angeles, Jepp & Hubert of the home & Thomas H. Bailey-Flat Rock community; 3daus: Mrs. Bobby Fowler-Williamston, Mrs. James Rumsey-Anderson & Mrs,. Edna Bailey of the home. He also leaves 5bros: Jim-St. Petersburg, FL, Henry-Anderson & Berry Champion & John Bailey all of Hartwell, GA. His wife, Mrs. Iris (Arze) Crump Bailey preceded him to the grave.
