John LAWSON (1805-1884). Born at Argyle, Washington, NY. Received elder's license in Kirtland 14 Nov 1836. Joined quorum 24 Sept 1837. Presided over Ramus Branch (IL) 1841. Endowed in Nauvoo Temple 1846. Resident of Manti, Sanpete, UT by 1851.

"John joined the Mormon Battalion on his way west with his wife and children. His wife Sarah died sometime after 1844. He married Margaret Vance after his return to Utah. They apparently lived in Salt Lake a short time after their marriage, and then moved to Manti. They were in St. George by 1860. He died in New Harmon, Utah." ~Woodrow Dennett, "Conquerors of the West" v.2 p.1388
