Funeral services for Dorothy Cooper, age 81, will be held at 2 PM Friday June 11, 2010 with Rev. John Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper died Monday June 7, 2010 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital.
Dorothy was born February 22, 1929 in Dyersburg, TN, the daughter of the late George Clifford and Virtie Mae Sharp. She was a member of the Buttercup Club for 35 years and a member of North Jackson Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Gerry "Pete" Cooper (Marilyn) of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Betty Roberts (Don) of Willcox, AZ; a special friend, Fred Harrigill of Jackson, TN; a brother, Albert Sharp of Lexington, TN.; a sister, Faye Jones of Jackson, TN; two grandchildren Joel Cooper (Robin) and Susan Pierce (Damon); three great grandchildren, Kelsey Pierce, Heather Pierce and Kenlee Cooper. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Cooper.
Memorials may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation.
The Family will receive friends Thursday June 10, 2010 from 5 PM until 7 PM and Friday from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.
