END COMES AT HOSPITAL AFTER FOUR WEEKS ILLNESS

Funeral Services for Wife of Former Circuit Judge Will Be Tomorrow Afternoon

Mrs. J. D. Perkins died just after 6 o'clock last night at the Carthage hospital. She had been ill of toxemia for the last four weeks, and two weeks ago was removed from her home, 902 South Main, to the hospital. She had been in an unconscious condition since Thursday evening.

Mrs. Perkins was 61 years old. She was born in St. Louis on April 13, 1861. For the last 30 years she has lived in Carthage, and has a wide circle of friends. About two years ago, as Mrs. Laura Y. Gashwiler, she married Judge Perkins, who retired from the bench of the circuit court in 1921 after serving about 25 years.
During the world war Mrs. Perkins engaged actively in assisting the Red Cross.

She is survived by her husband, a brother, Felix W. Young of St. Louis, a sister, Mrs. Daisy Y. Todd of Los Angeles and a half-sister Mrs. Amelia Y. Collins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Young arrived in Carthage yesterday from St. Louis and his wife is expected tomorrow. Marlin Perkins, a son of Judge Perkins, is also here from Columbia, where he attends Missouri University.

The body was removed to the Ulmer-Drake Funeral Home, and will be there until taken to the home tomorrow afternoon. The funeral will be held at 3:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the residence, and will be in charge of the Rev. Ben H. Smith, pastor of the Christian Church. The body will be taken to St. Louis tomorrow night for burial, and will be accompanied by Judge Perkins and Mr. and Mrs. Young.
