Husband of Marie Monroe Hogan. Henry held a degree in civil engineering from Layayette C ollege. He went west in 1911 and built rail roads in Oklahoma and Briti sh Columbia. He went to Alaska in 1912/13 and worked in gold dredging. He entered the oil business with his brother in 1924, then sold out and r etired in 1931. He ran a 105 mm artillary shell plant during WWII.
