Age 77, died Thursday, July 5, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born August 21, 1923 in Newhull, WV, the son of Thomas and Tila (Artis) Hardy. Orville was united in marriage to Dolly Johnson, she preceded him in death on October 3, 1981. He served in WWII in the Army Air Core in the 15th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron.
He worked as a carpenter in the Ann Arbor area for 30 years until his retirement in 1981. Orville was a member of the Fifteenth Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron Association.
He is survived by his children, Orville "Ed" Jr. (Kristin) Hardy of Ann Arbor, and Sandra (Al) Cameron of Greenbush, MI; grandchildren: Kevin, Stephanie, Charlie and John; sister Corilda Hankins; and nephew, Tom (May) Hardy and close family members, Kitty Hall, Charles Hardy and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers; and a sister.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2001 at 1 p.m. Washtenoog Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Muehlig Funeral Chapel on Monday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
