Mary M. Rhyne was born 28 Nov 1812 in Lincoln County, NC twin to Moses Hoffman Rhyne and daughter of Jacob Rhyne III and Elizabeth Hoffman Rhyne who together had 10 children. On 16 June 1832, Mary married Andrew Clemmer and together they had 5 children including Margaret born about 1832, Ephraim born about 1837, Lana born about 1839, Andrew born about 1841 and Mary born about 1842. When Andrew died about 1845, Mary was left without a spouse at the age 32 with these children to care for. About 1846, she married John D. M. Bollinger and together they had 4 children, Sarah Sophia born 1847, Laban Rhyne born 1848, Julia Monica born 1852 and Alice Albertine born about 1855. Mary Rhyne Bollinger attended Christ's Lutheran Church regularly from 1859 to 1866. She did not come to communion after that. Mary died 26 April 1867 at the age of 54. She is buried with John Bollinger in the Christ's Lutheran Church cemetery in Stanley, NC.
