Delight passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Riverwest Assisted Living. She was born to Blanche (Porter) and Warnie Adams on July 13, 1917, and was a lifelong resident of Wenatchee. She married Harold Tray Lee (1914-2003) in 1936, and had two children, Linda and Terry. In 1958, Delight married Lowell Garrett and they enjoyed golfing, bowling, cards and travelling until his death in 1991. Delight worked for several dentists, including Dr. Arch for 25 plus years, until his death, when she retired. She enjoyed her yard, grandchildren and gambling trips and many, many people enjoyed her delicious cookies and beautifully decorated birthday cakes.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Beaty (Luther); a son, Terry Lee (Carol); a step-daughter, Judy Padilla (Len); 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Allen; and a sister, Berdina Canady.
Our sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Rutherford and his nurse, Kelly, for their excellent and compassionate care and also to the staffs at Wenatchee Valley Medical Center, Central Washington Hospital and Riverwest.
Viewing will be held at Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home Friday, October 17, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m. at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
