Born in Schiers, Switzerland.
Daughter of Andreas Sutter & Domenica "Menga" Haag.

Married Andreas Wilhelm in 1855 in Schiers.
The couple had 4 children, one of whom died at a young age. Andreas died in 1870, and in 1873 Maria and her 3 surviving children, Christian, Apollonia & Andreas, immigrated to America with her brother Peter and his family and settled in Wisconsin.

A copy of Mary's obituary was given to me by a cousin. The original was written in German and was taken from an unknown German language paper most likely published in either Wisconsin or Minnesota. An English translation was included with the German, and it is given below exactly as transcribed, though I do believe some sections are not properly translated.
