He was born in Payette, Idaho to William and Ada Mrphy Brauner. He moved to Klamath Falls in 1934, then met Opal Gesner. They were married Salem in 1936.
Mr. Brauner served eight years on the Klamath Falls City Park Board, then six years on the Klamath County Park Board. He was one of the driving forces in the development of the Klamath Falls Municipal Swimmng Pool. He also was active in the development of many local parks.
After the Lorenz Co. closed, the Brauners opened Brauner Supply Co., a wholesale hardware company.
Mr. Brauner was active in the junior chamber of commerce, chamber of commerce and Exchange Club (a charter member). He was a former president of Exchange Club. He also was a member of Ponderosa Lodge 197 A.F.& A.M.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Judith Ann Brauner, Portland, and Katherine Louise Akin, San Jose, Calif.; sister Eileen Coffel, Beaverton; plus numerous other relatives.
