Margaret Emma was born to parents William Brown(1824-1896) and Harriet Morrison(1830-1905)in Glade Mills, Butler County, Pennsylvania.

She was one of nine children: John Milton, Eliza Ellan, Mary McNeil, William Howard, George Addison, Clarenda Adeline, Anna Ruth and Harriet.

Margaret married Clarence Dayton Lodge(1862-1926) in West Branch, Iowa. They had three children together; Robert Dayton, John Max and Ewart Brown.

Margaret died in Springdale Township, West Branch in Cedar County, Iowa and is laid to rest with her husband Clarence in West Branch Cemetery in the same county.

The West Branch Municipal Cemetery is located on North Maple Street in West Branch.
