Joseph B. Timm, 45, Dies With Self Inflicted Gun Shot In Head; Motive Is Unknown

Buhl, August 1 (Special to the news)- The body of Joseph Benjamin Timm, 45, Hagerman, who commited suicide last Saturday, (See note below) was sent to his former home in Kansas Sunday. The deceased with his family came here a few months ago and had been working by the day in the Hagerman Valley. The family had been away Saturday morning and upon reaching home found the body of Mr. Timm under a tree in the back yard. He had used a 410 guage shotgun to inflict the wound in his head which caused instant death. No reason for the act could be found by his family or neighbors, who stated that Mr. Timm was apparently in no financial difficulties and was in good health. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. (See note below)

Note: According to a great-granddaughter, He had only one daughter Edith Timm Carstens and death happened on a Sunday while family was at church.

he only had one daughter Edith Marie Timm Carstens. The obituary was wrong when they said he had 3 daughters. Edith passed away in Oct. 2001 in Hugo, Colorado...She was 87.
