YOAKUM -- Funeral services for Joseph J. Kutac, 93, Yoakum, were held at Buffington Chapel and at St. Joseph Catholic Church Saturday, with the Rev. John Matocha officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rosary was recited at the chapel Friday night.
Mr. Kutac, a retired farmer, died at a local nursing home Thursday at 2:15 p.m. He was born Nov. 12, 1873, in the Weid community, Lavaca County.
Surviving are two sons, Bohumil of San Antonio and August of Seguin; five daughters, Miss Minnie Kutac of Yoakum, Mrs. M. E. Murdell of Seguin, Mrs. Don Munn of Huntsville, Mrs. Curtis Ward of Houston and Mrs. Jack Wamsley of Galveston; three brothers, Anton and Nick, both of Yoakum, and Edward of Kerrville; five sisters, Mrs. Louise Kubos of Yoakum, Mrs. Lena Vahalik of Victoria, Miss Annie Kutac, Miss Mary Kutac and Mrs. Julius Petru, all of Yoakum; 24 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, four sons, two brothers and a sister.
