ANDREW - Matthew Andrew, 94, 4141 N. Rockton Ave., died at 6 p.m. Friday, June 9, 1972, in Wesley Willows Retirement Home after a long illness. Born Sept. 26, 1877 in Argyle, Ill. son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Andrew. Lived 30 years in Rockford, coming here from Argyle. Married to the former Mary Breckenridge in Guilford Township Sept. 26, 1905. He had retired after farming many years and in recent years had been a driver for the Winnebago County Farm Bureau. Life member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, and was a past trustee of the church. He was a 50-year member of Roscoe Lodge No. 75, A.F. & A.M. and a charter member of the Winnebago County Farm Bureau. Survivors include: two brothers, James P. and Hugh T., both of Argyle, a sister, Mrs. Hazel A. Starkey, Lake Worth, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. His wife, Mary, and five sisters preceded him in death.
Services at 2 p.m. Monday BURPEE-WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 420 N. Main St., with Rev. Lester Reemtsma, pastor of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial in Scottish Cemetery, Argyle. No visitation. Friernds may contribute to the flower fund of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church.
