Born in Minnesota, Alpha grew up in Michigan and came to Seattle in 1906. He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War I and in 1933 formed Al's Potato Service, in which he was active until his death. He attended St. Martin's College, Olympia, and was a member of the Holy Name Society, St. Vincent DePaul and St. Pius X Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; three sons, Gordon, Basil and Alan Jesmer, all of Alderwood Manor; a daughter, Mrs. Steven Riewer, Bothell; a sister, Mrs. Edward C. Hosey, Seattle, and a brother, Sidney Jesmer, Omo Ranch, Calif.
Remembrances to the Lake Serene Volunteer Firemen's Fund were suggested.
