OBITUARY :
MARY ELIZABETH (BISER) MUMMERT, 98, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 13645 Old Route 16, Waynesboro, died at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 1999, in the nursing home. She had been in failing health for the past year and critically ill for the past week.

Born Sept 20, 1900, in Ellerton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Charlotte (DeLauter) Biser. She lived her early life in Ellerton.

She and her husband, Luther F. "Brownie" Mummert, were married Oct. 13, 1921, in Hagerstown. They moved to the Old Route 16 address in October 1929.

Mr. Mummert died Nov. 10, 1966.

Mrs. Mummert entered Greaton Place, Wayne Heights, in April 1998 and Quincy Home in October 1998.

Mrs. Mummert enjoyed working and cooking in her home and loved raising and caring for her family.

She was a member of Welty's Church of the Brethren, Greensburg.

She is survived by four daughters, Helen L. Smith of Rouzerville, Mildred I. Sanders and M. Jane Martin, both of Blue Ridge Summit, and Evelyn Faye Zeger of Fayetteville; a son, Paul L. Mummert of Waynesboro; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary E. Myers; one son, Austin J. Biser; one grandson, Brian Yeager, and number of sisters and brothers.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Pastor Dean Mouk officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Welty Church of the Brethren, 13465 Greensburg Road, Smithsburg, Md. 21783.
