age 98 yrs, 10 months, passed away
Sunday June 6, 2010, at the
Selma Markowitz Care Center/
Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
She was born August 7, 1911, in
Franklin County, Ohio to
Willard and Martha (Rhyan) Sawyer.
Vivian graduated from Hamilton Township High School and lived most of her life in Pickaway County. Vivian was a 62 year member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lockbourne, where she organized a youth choir, served as assistant organist and was a member of the choir and the Ladies Society.
She was employed by the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation for 21 years retiring in 1973. Vivian enjoyed writing articles for The Pickaway County News, Ashville, Ohio and later had numerous articles published in The Newark Advocate. After moving to Newark, she became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She loved life, family get-togethers, and travelling the country and the world.
She lived life to the fullest and had a vivacious personality with all who knew her.
Vivian is survived by her sons,
Willard "Bill" (Joan K.) Kuhlwein,
of Newark, and
Robert E. Kuhlwein
of Romulus, Michigan;
eight grandchildren,
Leland, Lance, Karen,
Kelly, Robert, Andrea, Scott, Randy;
11 great-grandchildren,
and numerous cousins,
nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents,
Vivian was preceded
in death by her husband,
Charles W. DeVoss and
former husband,
Ray E. Kuhlwein

and relatives Wednesday from
6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at
