C. L. BONNEY died very suddenly at the Norfolk Protestant Hospital yesterday morning in the 53rd year of his age. He had been at the hospital hardly thirty minutes, having been conveyed there in a carriage, and was being examined preparatory to a surgical operation, six physicians being present - death transpiring before the beginning of the operation. Death was the result of
blood poisoning, due to malignant growth of the pancreas.
The deceased was born in Princess Anne County, but came to Norfolk twenty years ago where he had since resided, and where he was well known and most highly esteemed. He was manager of a Chattanooga insurance company. He is survived by two sons, Herman and Hilton, aged respectively 16 and 11 years. His wife preceded him to the grave recently.
