Funeral services were held for William Sampson Pigford, a former Hollis resident, at the Childress Methodist church today (Thursday) followed by Masonic rites at the graveside at the Clarendon cemetery.
Pigford was born April 7, 1898 in Hollis and lived here until 1919 before moving to Texas. For several years he has lived at Newland [sic], Texas near Memphis and was a member of the Memphis Masonic lodge.
He is survived by his wife and daughter, Barbara, age 16 years and a number of other relatives who formerly lived here.
