Mr. Duling came to Sundance, WY in 1885 and was in the livery business in Crook and Weston Counties before moving to Sheridan. He was a leading citizen of Newcastle for many years.
He was married twice; first to Luella Murphy, daughter of Frank S. Murphy, in 1893 and she died in 1004 in Newcastle ; second he was married to Anna Mary Hart and she died in 1916 in Sheridan. A stepdaugher was Lucile Hart.
In his early life among the Indians he learned their language so that he could speak it fluently, and acquired facility in many of their sporting and athletic accomplishments. from "Progressive Men of Wyoming"
He committed suicide in November of 1927 due to financial reversals.
