Mary Ellen Patton, 95, of Amarillo died Monday, May 24, 2010.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Anthony Pennington officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Patton was born Aug. 26, 1914, in Swearingen to Willis and Mariam Bolt. She was a 1932 graduate of Paducah High School and worked on her bachelor's degree at Amarillo College and West Texas State University.

She married W.J. "Pat" Patton on Jan. 16, 1937, in Roaring Springs.

Mrs. Patton was an award-winning Avon representative for a number of years. She was known to be an excellent seamstress who made wedding dresses for many women in her family. She was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and was a member of the Wild Rose Lodge No. 312.

Mrs. Patton taught Bible classes with her husband as he pastored churches in Texas and in Arkansas. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. "Pat" Patton; four brothers, Aaron J. Bolt, Richard Bolt, Aubrey Bolt and Charles Bolt; and a sister, Annie Mae Bolt.

Survivors include a son, Wesley Patton and wife Mary of Mountain Home; three daughters, Norene Gion of Midland, Audrey Seal and husband Ted of Happy and Armenta McCallister and husband Gene of Euless; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
