A visitation for William Dale Ahrens, 79, of Oshkosh, WI, formerly of Rolling Meadows, will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, where services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Colette Church, for Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.

Born August 25, 1930 in Chicago, he died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Ahrens was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine Corps. He had worked as a printer, was a Rolling Meadows alderman from 1967 to 1979 and mayor from 1979 to 1990, and was a former member of the Rolling Meadows Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and the Clearbrook Foundation.

He was the husband of the late Betty A.; father of Debra (Joseph) Stoltman, Linda (Paul) Posco, William (Laura), Pamela and Betty Ann Ahrens; grandfather of fourteen; great-grandfather of two; and brother of Richard (Carol) Ahrens and Carole (the late Louis) DiPinto.
