[obit] Charles C. Aikey, 78, died Wednesday at 2 O’clock p.m. at the Wood-More Nursing Home, New Columbia, where he had been a guest three and one-half months.
He had been in ill health a number of years and seriously ill several months.
Mr. Aikey was born July 6, 1876 at Mifflinburg R.D. 2, where he spent his entire life, the son of the late Ephriam Aikey and Ellen Spotts Aikey. He was a farmer, retiring 12 years ago. He was a member of the Forest Hill Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Helen Ehrenzeller, Milton; a son George Meitz, California; a sister Mrs. James Aikey, Watsontown; a brother Merrill Aikey, Milton R.D.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Services were held Saturday at 2 O’clock p.m. from the Forest Hill E.U.B. Church with Rev. William Warburton, pastor emeritus, officiating.
