Amos Swancey, 89, of Social Circle, formerly of Marietta, died Monday. Services were held at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Callahan officiating.
Mr. Swancey was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a Baptist. Survivors include one son, Lee E. Swancey, Sr., of Marietta; five daughters, Maggie Cagle and Martha Carrie Dennard, both of Marietta, Carol Lassitter of Old Town, Fla., Peggy Smith of Loganville, and Linda Malcolm of Columbia, Tenn.; one brother and five sisters; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Hinton Funeral Home in Loganville is in charge of arrangements.
