Buried alongside his 1st. Wife, Carrie Belle,although he did remarried later on in his life. His 2nd. marriage was to Emma Irene McNabb Screckengost.

Elie Schrecengost, 81, of Kittanning MR10 (Pine Hill) died at 11:10 a.m.yesterday (August 4, 1959). He was born February 12, 1878, in Armstrong County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Schrecengost. A member of the Freeport Methodist Church, he retired in 1944 after 45 years as an employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Surviving are his wife, Emma Irene (McNabb) Schrecengost; two sons Cecil of Freeport and Samuel of Pasadena, California; two daughters,Mrs. William (Pearl) Ross of Leechburg RD 2and Mrs. Delia Blatt of California; four brothers, Percy of Leechburg RD 2, Frank of Derry, William of Maryland, and Edward of Bagdad; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three stepsons, James McNabb of Bloomington, Indiana, William McNabb of Pontiac, Michigan, and Clarence McNabb of Kittanning; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Carney of Sagamore. Friends are being received at the John R. Cherry funeral home Cain Freeport from 1-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m.today and tomorrow. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Charles E. Strater, pastor of First Church of God in Kittanning, officiating. Interment will be made in Freeport cemetery.
