Don Alford of Belmont Dies.

San Carlos, Dec. 31.--Donald S. Alford, 65, prominent pioneer real estate developer of Belmont, died yesterday in a Santa Cruz hospital after an illness of three days. Alford lived here at 787 Elm street and was making a holiday visit to his country home at Santa Cruz when he was stricken.

Although he had resided in San Carlos for 25 years, his chief business activity was in the Belmont area, where he had the Brook Haven, Peninsula Foothills, Miramar Heights and a number of other real estate developments.

He was a native of Lawrence, Kans., and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jessie M. Alford, and two daguhters, Mrs. Walter C. Stone of Belmont and Jessie M. Alford of San Carlos.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Laying and Tinney chapel in Redwood City and will be followed by interment in Alta Mesa Memorial Park.
