Ledlie R. Holland, former Coalgate resident, died April 28, 1987, at his home in Arlington, Texas. Burial was in Parkland Cemetery in Arlington.
He was born in 1908 in Murray, Ky, to Emmett and Sadie Keys Holland. The family moved to Coalgate, Ok in 1914 and lived there many years.
Mr. Holland was a graduate of East Central University in Ada and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. During his teaching career he was principal of Coalgate High School; chairman of the math department of Eastern Oklahoma A&M College at Wilburton; and for 22 years was a math professor at the University of Texas in Arlington. He was retired in 1976.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, UTA, Retired Teachers Association and Arlington Genealogical Society.
He married Dorothy McLachlan in Ada in 1941.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; one son, Roy, Arlington, Texas; daughter, Jean Holland, Mamula, Austin, Texas; brothers, Dick Holland, Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Bruce Holland, Phoenix, Az.
