"Funeral services for Ollie David Abbe, resident of Athens for 24 years, were held Tuesday afternoon at Memory Chapel, Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, with Rev. R.E. Bost officiating. Interment was in the Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. Abbe, 72, passed away at his home Monday morning. At the time of his death he was a retired farmer. He moved to Athens from Cherokee County, his birthplace.
Survivors include three sons, Leo, Leroy and Dick Abbe, all of Dallas; four brothers, Tom Abbe of Big Spring, Levi Abbe of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ab and John Abbe of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. L. Crocker of Kerens, and three grandchildren.

Son of David Greenberry Abbe and Julia Ann May Abbe; husband of Maudie Leonadis Purifoy Abbe, to whom he was married on October 12, 1900 in Kerens, Navarro, TX; he was a farmer. He and Maudie had three sons: Leo Marshall David Abbe, Leroy Thomas Abbe and Finnis Lee Abbe.
