Ray was the son of Albert E. Robison and Cora Olsen Robison; Brother of Elaine, Gene and Donald Robison; Husband of first wife Nola Louise Hileman (1947 - 1958) (they were married 3 times); 4th Husband of second wife Mary Lula Dinger Garlock.
He served in the US Army Warrant Division during WWII.

First marriage to Nola Louise Hileman was December 26, 1943, Bennettsville, South Carolina. They met in Memphis, Tennessee; married 1943, 1947, 1958. Both remarried and divorced someone else after that.
