A native of Washington County, she was born March 27, 1887 the daughter of the late John Walker and Martha Elizabeth Harris Poole. A homemaker, she was a member of First Baptist Church and the wife of the late James Bennie Pittman.
Survivors include five daughters, Martha E. Smith, Bennie C. Watts, both of Sandersville; Susie B. Knight of Tennille, Clutha Golder of Chamblee, Annie L. Carswell of Brunswick; three sons, John B. Pittman of Milledgeville, Sol Pittman of Sandersville, William H. Pittman of Bradenton, FL; 25 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were W.C. Daniel, Osgood Bateman, Lewis West, Bill Giddens, Aubin Willis, Barney Riner.
