Bennie Frank Brooks, age 82 of 510 South Harris St., Sandersville, died Saturday, August 25, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 27, from Chapel Mayo-Lord Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Lastinger officiating, assisted by Rev. James Duke. Interment was in Brownwood Cemetery.

Mr. Brooks was born December 7, 1907. He was the son of Charles Walker Brooks and Ella Nora Blount. He was a merchant and farmer. He was a member of Sandersville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Adams Brooks of Sandersville; two daughters, Frances Wilcher of Tennille and Nora Pyles of Lizella; three sons, Frank Emory Brooks of Seneca, South Carolina, William Brooks of Sandersville, Leonard Allan Brooks of Marietta; two sisters, Jewell Alexander and Louise Bragg, both of Sandersville; one brother, Louie Brooks of Brooklet; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were his grandsons Ronnie Wilcher, David Wilcher, Wayne Wilcher, Bryan Pyles, Douglas Pyles, John Brooks, Allan Brooks and Benjamin Brooks.

Mayo-Lord Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
